Noisy air conditioning
« on: April 04, 2014, 08:43:41 pm »
Hi everyone

Just wanted to know if anyone else's  air con on their mk5 gti is noisy. Mine is making some crazy mechanical/metallic/snoring noises. It's been re-gassed and the car drives likes a dream so it's just the noise doing my head in.

Any ideas?

Mine sounds like an aircraft taking off, been like it since I got 2 1/2 yrs ago, saying that my air on needs sorting so maybe that's why, hopefully someone more knowledgable than I will have some ideas

A "Darth Vader" noise is a sign that your pressure switch is on its way out.  Not too expensive.

Shadow blue DSG 5 door with leather, sunroof, 18" Monzas, MFSW.
Full list of mods:  Seat inserts and a VW bottle opener.  Each worth 20bhp.

How do you now if you need a new pressure sensor?
