Something which I've not heard or read people talk about on this forum is the use of Octane Boost & fuel additives.
I used to use Millers Octane Plus on my previous 1.8T car to mainly improve performance and keep the injectors/fuelling and valves clear and free from gunk. There was a noticeable improvement with performance to which I was really impressed with.
Millers Octane Plus enhances performance by increasing octane values up to 2 numbers (20 points).

I'm tempted to try as a one off try Millers CVL Turbo (Use with modern fuels to increase octane levels by up to 4 octane numbers (40 points)

I have read that the CVL turbo version can only be used now and then as it can affect the catalyst not sure if that's just from a standard point of view or whether sports/race catalyst are also affected. Obviously those with de-cats need not worry
