Project Carbon Vader MK5 GTi
« on: April 15, 2014, 12:52:22 pm »
Hi guys, new on here, recently sold my BMW E46 330ci for something a bit better on fuel for work and something better for track and tuneability.
My old E46:

Now onto the GTi.
05 Plate, Black magic, DSG, full leathers which are heated, 70k very very nice.
The day I picked it up:

Kept it standard for almost 2 whole hours, a new record I think.
Started off with a filter from a mates occy VRs wrapped in gold heat wrap:

Then gave it a full service, belts etc and DSG service for good measure.
Next up, 3" down pipe with decat, ended up removing all the the silencers from the standard system whilst I was there, sounds absolutely mental tbh, very happy with it.

Then front end carbon fibre plate plinth:

Then fitted some FK coilovers and used VAGCOM for us running lights, love them.

Then I wanted some ROTA Grid Drifts, and fortunately my mate had some for sale for a price I couldn't turn down, 17x9 all round, good track stance.

Then I found a plate on the DVLA I just had to have. My initials are CC, the plate reads CC5 2 LOW. (Chris Chapmans 2 Low) LOL.
Got some plates made up:

(I know it's not centre, just a test fit as the plate hasn't registered yet.)

The rear plate  :signLOL: the police are going to love me:

Plans:
It's being mapped at RTech next Wednesday, can't wait.
Carbon front wings
Edition 30 rear bumper
Smoothed rear bootlid
R32 Xenons
And lots and lots of cleaning.
We'll see what happens.

If your 330 is anything to go by, this will be a cracker. Keep up the good work.

Cheers bud and yeah it really sets off the front end. It's a good fit, you just have to bond it on to the existing one.

Thanks mate. Yeah it was cool, just got bored of it tbh. It was form over function tbh, the golf will be both.
