Another boost issue
« on: April 15, 2014, 09:32:40 pm »
Hello everyone,
I own 06 mk5 gti, Bwa engine code. I have boost problem i don't know how to solve it. The problem is that specified boost is too low. We tried 3 different remaps and with all of them, the same problem. Instead of 1.3-1.4 bar boost i am getting only 1.1 bar specified and 0.9 - 1.0bar actual boost @ 3500rpm. At 6000rpm i am getting only 0.6bar boost. And one more problem which bothers me... when i hit pedal to the floor in 6gear it accellerates ok till 5000rpm. That it stops accellerating for about a second, like the gas pedal was dead. Than ok till 6000rpm and the story repeats. 6000rpm...1, 2, second... than starts reving up again. I hope that you understand what i am trying to tell. I have already changed pcv and dv for revision d. I have also done decat on standard exhaust. Hoses and clamp on turbo and on intercooler seams to be fine. I tried stock map also and still not boosting more than 0.6 bar@3500rpm. I hope someone of you can direct me where to look for.

Sounds like a possible waste gate problem if you have tried all the above!

How do i know if the wastegate failed? How can it be tried. Does work on pressure or vacuum? What will be the difference if i turn nut ob wastegate for a bit?

When you mentioned that you have pre-cat delete it will probably be bits of the old cat clogging the second cat, as I found out after trying to cure it by changing the usual suspects. The fault code it throws up is for dv, n75, boost leak etc

I thought also, after that i removed main cat, so the car is without any cat.
