My high level rear brake light stopped working recently and I was quoted a ridiculous amount of money to have it replaced which involved removal of the rear spoiler etc etc. Anyway I spoke to the Rueben down at Tuning Werkes in Croydon to see if they could help. I even e-mailed the link I found on here showing how to replace the light unit WITHOUT taking off the spoiler and they agreed to try and do it for me as I wasn't confident in attempting it myself. A couple of hours later they called and said the job was finished successfully. Anyway on to the good bit, the price including the part and also replacing the left hand rear brake light bulb as well was £79-00. I thought this was fantastic considering the original option. So a big shout out to Ruben and the guys down at tuning werkes and if any of you guys in the Surrey area need this done but are a bit scared to try yourself I would really recommend them.

My second query was that although the dash warning light came on to advise a bulb failure, the highline display didn't actually tell me straight away what bulb it was that needed replacing. It was only a couple of days later that it actually came up on the display telling me if was the rear left brake light. I just wanted to know if that was normal or was it the fact that the middle brake light was "out as well" possibly confused the onboard computer. As always, any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.  :happy2:

My high level brake light is out too and like you I don't want to risk doing it myself! I'm not sure if the high level brake light being out should affect the bulb failure notice on the highline. The high level brake light isn't in the circuit to notify as a failure iirc as it shouldn't fail, but it is a common problem just down to poor design!

I did the 'break out' technique to fix my high level brake light last year, I'm not very good at this stuff normally but took my time and was very easy and saved me a fortune in avoiding the removal of the spoiler and risking that being damaged!
