Possibly broken something
« on: April 17, 2014, 02:54:10 pm »
Hey all. Just a quick question, regarding brake sliding bolts. These are the ones that connect the two separate bits of the caliper together on OEM brakes. How difficult should it be to slide the bolt in and out of the hanger? Should they need a lot of force to extract?

Also, if they have scour marks all over them (from being twisted) is that a sign that they should be replaced?

Moving over to Flickr, sorry for the broken picture links!

Answered my own question.

No. they should slide in and out with ease. If they're scoured then they're f**ked.

Caused by not cleaning out the holes properly, 2 new sliding bolts now required! :fighting2:

Good excuse for getting this if it's still available.
