Connecting Ipod to MFD2
« on: April 21, 2014, 04:20:00 pm »
Hey

I know this has probably been asked many times before. I currently have an mfd2 dvd version fitted in my car, i want to connect my ipod to my unit and be able to change tracks on the unit. I have heard i can get a unit from xcar links that will allow me to connect my ipod and have functionality. Is their any other options i have i.e. original VW ipod connectivity? and what functionality will i have?

Thanks

Xcarlink and some VW iPod kits will charge your device... I have an old Connects2 which charged it when I was using it.

I had an MFD2 on my old Golf
It had a VW iPod kit but the 8pin mini-din cable that came with it broke. I bought an XCarLink 8pin to iPod mini-din connector which had a small box on it but no extra cables (plugged right into the VW ipod control box) and it charged my iPod Touch and iPhone 4
