BMW amongst others retro-fit these, for a price. By all accounts, they're very good.

Am I right in thinking the end effect will be a list of DAB stations appearing on screen where FM stations normally would? I was just wondering if such a thing existed this week. Less than £150 quid sounds a steal

Yeah, it just adds in more stations as if it was the head unit seeing them. Only downside is the aerial, but it may be possible to use an OE VAG DAB unit??

I have one and don't get a very good reception but that is in the hull area where the nearest transmitter is miles away and also you cannot change tracks on cd's iPod etc while on the audio screen on the Highline with auto dab connected switched on or off you have to go into nav screen to change tracks , hope this helps

I used one in my MK6, and it was pretty handy as I tend to listen to the radio more than SD/MP3/CD.
Reception wise it's no worse than the OEM system in my mk7!

It's easy to use with the steering wheel buttons but not being fully OEM it does have certain drawbacks but is much easier to use than a stand alone unit like the PURE Highway I use in my wife's old Ibiza.

I've still got mine in its box in my bedroom but it needs a new ariel if you wanted to buy one cheap!
