esp and abs lights
« on: April 21, 2014, 10:27:56 pm »
Hi all, finally got me a golf mk5 but it seems to have an intermittent fault.  I can be driving along when suddenly the abs and esp lights illuminate on the dash...pressing the esp button does nothing and they disappear if i cut the ignition and restart.  The lights dont come on every journey....ideas please....read a common fault is the brake light switch....what do you think?

I think you need to get a vcds scan asap to pinpoint the issue.
Without traction power is nothing!

VCDS would point the finger in the right direction.

Are you stock or tuned? What stage?

Any power loss?

Probably a wheel speed sensor.
