RCD300 & iPod
« on: April 22, 2014, 03:53:43 pm »
I bought a 57 DSG GTI at the weekend and I'm really enjoying it

However I have pretty much worked out everything apart from the iPod dock in the arm rest. I believe the head unit is a RCD300 and I've read that I need to press the CD button twice to bring up the menu but it does nothing but display 'No CDC'. The iPod I'm trying to use is a 6th gen Classic with a few playlists already on it.

Anything I can check myself? E.g. it's actually connected? Looks like someone has used it in the past. It's going in for a service next week so may have to get them to take a look if not.

Hi, its probably failed to be honest. The Mk5 Golf iPod docks are notoriously unreliable and pack up at regular interval just displaying No CDC. Would suggest upgrading to a third gen head unit like the RCD or RNS 310/ 510. Could replace the iPod kit with an MDI connection.
