New tyres time....again

Hi Peeps,

Need two new front tyres on my std Ed30.

I have narrowed the choice down to Michelin pilot sport 3, Dunlop sport maxx  or Goodyear Eagle F1 assy 2

I currently have 4 Conti 3's, the rears are good, less than half worn however the fronts are shot after about 8k!  Fronts have a hard time here in Guernsey, no speed as such, but constantly turning, also got through both steering joint boots, car has done 27k!!The contis are good but i am looking for a longer lasting tyre.

So any thoughts / advice / opinions would be appreciated, I can't seem to find a recent post on this, so looking for some more up to date info etc.

I have Michelin Pilot Sports 3 and they are brilliant in the dry and wet. Give good feedback and last long as they did 29,000 miles rotating front to rear.

The problem you have with this thread is that all of these tyres you have listed are good lol, so its going to be mixed opinions 

Just take a wild guess, you'll not be disappointed with whichever ones u go for lol

I had the same with Continentals. Rubbish life (fronts 8k miles, rears 10k) so I know where you're at with that. I've always stuck with Michelin except for the brief excursion into Conti country, and they always last much better (until the wife puts a nail in them).

Just looking for a full set at the moment and found the cheapest place to be Tyre leader with free delivery as standard.

+1. Pilot Sports have been my tyre of choice for the last couple of cars - Monaro,Porsche.

I had the continental 3 sports on, well still have two and they are the worst tyres iv ever had on a car, I changed to Goodyear f1's and so much better. Carnt wait to burn the my other two continentals out and have a full set good f1's on great tyres.
I was always Bridgestone ponteza before that but the forum converted me

how many less miles did F1's do....my main concern commuting in a diesel  
my Potenza S001 do 30K a year on the front.

I had the pontenza's on my previous cars 306gti6 and ep3 type r, but seeing the reviews everyone gives the F1's I just decided to go with them. Only had my f1's on a few months and put them on the back to scrub these naff conti sports out, so I'll know more then and how many mile I'll get out of them. I was only getting about 6k on pontenza's so happy if i get that with F1's I only do that in 12 months anyway...

I Carnt say I notice much difference between the two but it was 4 years ago when I had my last car and 100bhp between them

Im gonna throw a curve ball in and say vredestein sessanta or the newer vorti. Had both, great price, very good grip in the dry, excellent in the wet. Just a touch noisey when theyre closer to depth minimum

Decided Goodyear or Michelins, just waiting for a price locally, think I will go for the Goodyears, think they might wear better..?
Thanks for the links to online suppliers, but dosn't work like that here in Guernsey, cheaper to go to tyre fitter, as carriage and VAT make buying online more expensive, and then the tyres need to be fitted!

I,ll let you know what gets fitted, and my first impressions.
