how much it costs,
can it be done by owner.

That equals to this whole forum in one tread
Be more specific, and start by looking in the modification tread, how to guides and product reviews.
If you can't find what you are looking for, post your question, and i bet it will be answered.  :happy2:

so my dummies questions would be....

what is an intake for? how does it improve the car?
wahts stage 1/2/3 ko3/ko4 etc
what is a dump valve have i got one do i need one?
whats res and non res exhausts?

so thats how basic a knowledge i need to know and i might be the only one who is this non tech or car minded but i need to know these answers to be enable to make my car a good as i can/or afford
if i try search these sort of answers will i find such simple answers?
or should i just give up and stay standard :sad1:

tis a good idea.

most members have fitted the part you probably want before and done a writeup....
So I'd consider reviewing the   Product review section first

then moving onto the FAQ and Performance Modification areas.

Its all in here ..... dont give up.... :happy2:

besides if all else fails just ask,  there are plenty of folk on here who can link to a thread from memory  :signLOL:
if it adds something you havent seen summarised before then consider adding a review or FAQ yourself  :happy2:

what is an intake for? how does it improve the car?
The intake lets the engine breathe more easily
wahts stage 1/2/3 ko3/ko4 etc
Stage 1/2/3 refers to what level of softwaretune combined with varies levels of hardwaremodification you have on your car
what is a dump valve have i got one do i need one?
A dump valve is a valve that lets the surplus amount of air out of your intakesystem when you let go of the gas and the engine doesn't use the air feed to it by the turbo. Your 2.0 TFSI doesn't have a dumpvalve as such. It has a Divertervalve, same function, but instead of letting the air into the atmosphere, it leads it to the intake side of the turbo, keeping it running while off the gas.
whats res and non res exhausts?
Wether or not there's a resonansbox on the exhaust

so thats how basic a knowledge i need to know and i might be the only one who is this non tech or car minded but i need to know these answers to be enable to make my car a good as i can/or afford
if i try search these sort of answers will i find such simple answers?

Don't be too harsh on yourself. Just read, ingest, question and then make a decision once you have all the relevant facts.

We all had to start somewhere.

i dont know much tbh, like catch can???? haha some time on google + asking around gets me answers!

i know what most engine mods now i think... i need to move onto suspension, as top mounts, sway bars and other randomly named parts currently confuse me! but i will find a diagram im sure that will make it all simples!

i did a front page for my previous forum that put all parts in different catagorys but it took ages to collect all the info + the colt only has 1/4 the mods avail that the golf does!
