I purchased my car back in July, it was a one owner with just 4000 miles on it. Within the first week, I had a stage II map, including delimit on the DSG, Full milltek, and intake. So Basically took the car from 230BHP to up around the 300BHP mark.
The car has always been a bit too torque steery for me, especially coming from the RS4, even though the performance doesn't seem that different. I had the alignment checked and reset on our own laser two wheel alignment gear, and all seemed good, but it still veered to the right under hard acceleration. So I spoke to Ed at APS ( who has helped on all of mine and customer cars) and he suggested that they get it on their gear to be checked.
SO last Monday I set off on my 250 miles round trip to APS. On arrival Nathan took it up the road and agreed that it felt very camber sensitive. They put it on their alignment equipment and set it up fully to how it should have been - Also stating that most cars come out the factory set up wrong.
On the drive back the steering felt lighter and more direct, but up until last night I hadn't really had a chance to drive it properly. All I can say is the car drives so different, with a lot less torque steer if at all, unless the road is seriously rutted, no pulling to the right and more feedback through the steering wheel.
For me now this will be a must on any car to get it checked and set up correctly, and I will definately be getting my Golf R check when it arrives.
As always 10/10 to APS.
