Silicone hoses on a standard intercooler?
« on: April 25, 2014, 10:41:17 pm »
I'm thinking about making a purchase on the forge silicone hose kit for your turbo/intercooler.

In a couple of weeks my car will be getting mapped to stage 2 and already my standard hoses are coming loose and causing a lot of leaks. Is it worth buying this kit to use on a standard cooler or replacing my existing?

Thanks, Stuart.

Where are your leaks?
Maybe all that's needed is renewal of the rubber O rings on the IC hose couplings that perish over time.

I had bother with an o ring which would happen with both kits I'd imagine over time so don't really think it would make much difference unless ur hoses need replacing

Thanks, reckon that would save a fair but of money as well. Can you buy aftermarket or is it straight from vw?

Your best solution would.be the sfs hoses as they are one piece and minimise any boost leaks. Plus they are free flowing so you will gain power and improved engine response.  On mine they gave a 10bhp increase over the standard hoses.
