Kenwood DNX520VBT update problem [SOLVED]
« on: April 28, 2014, 06:19:53 pm »
Hi All,
I have just acquired the Kenwood DNX520VBT. It's all fitted and a great unit but needs the most recent updated firmware. It's currently running 1.2 and the most recent update from the Kenwood website is 1.4. I have followed the how to guide on installing the update but having some problems.
I have burnt the update file onto a disc and inserted into the unit as it says to do. It then says put it on standby, press settings/information/software. it then tells you the current system (1.2) and the update button is next to it.
My update button is greyed out and i can't press it.
I have tried this on a CD, a DVD, tried burning the files only, tried burning the downloaded folder containing the update files. Button still remains grey, if i go back and press DVD button is says disc error.
Has anyone encounted this problem or any help?
Very much appreciated.

The file is an ISO file so did you burn the image to disc with IMGburn, MagicISO, PowerISO or some such program?
Sarcasm for free. Anything after that can only be considered as a bonus.

Just because you think you know something, doesn't make you an expert if you've just read it on the internet, y'know.

I've done the update following the steps on the kenwood website and had no problems. More than happy to send you my disc to do the update from but obviously at your own risk and I accept no responsibility should there be a problem. I would like it back though!

I'm such an idiot  :stupid: - thank you VIKING - i should have known this. I was just dragging the files on to the disk. I have now made a workable DVD and will update on my way to work in the morning.
Thanks also J12SPK for the offer but now not needed.
