Yup, standard wheels - 18 x 7.5 ET 56.
I've fitted 235/40/18 Michelin PS3s on them (I went for 235 instead of 225 for some extra wheel protection).

Thanks, indeed they do.
I stumbled upon some nice gear - P3Cars VIDI - but it's a bit pricey tho so I'm not sure about it yet.

Pros:
 - keeps look as close to OEM as possible
 - no cutting/trimming required to install
 - can measure lots of parameters
 - supports imperial & metric units

Cons:
 - price
 - car is not yet mapped so not of much use ATM

They also have one for the Mk5 if anyone is interested.
I've talked to their dealer in Greece and the price excl. P&P is 320 euros (~ £265).

Phantom Black S3 - DIY HomeLink
« Reply #9 on: June 13, 2014, 07:18:18 pm »
DIY HomeLink - had this mod in mind for quite a while now and today I managed to get it done.

Only part needed was 8P0 035 775 C 5PR which I was told was made by Audi for the German Police.
They used it to switch frequencies on their radios.

Button I used for this mod

Everything in place

I'm very happy that the look is 100% OEM & I don't need to search for the garage remote in the armrest anymore! :jumping:
Cheers!

My son is growing nicely, so it's time to relocate some funds towards the car for some small updates.
Central and side grills will be painted in glossy black (work in progress) and the foglights will be wraped with yellow Lamin-X.

Car passed MOT without any issues, service was done + replaced the CF (was as new, but still) and the pump o-ring which looked nasty.
Car has now approx. 74.000 km and running like a charm!

Thanks mate, yours looks lovely aswell. And the old M3... sweet.

Rear wiper decided to stop working (spring broke), so I ordered and installed the facelift (8V) wiper kit. Looks way better IMO and it was a perfect fit.
Also, the navigation software was updated to the latest version and the heated mirrors were activated via VCDS.

Oh and in about 3-4 weeks the car will ride on Bilstein B16 coilovers, I'm really looking forward to it.
I'm hoping that the weather gets better soon, so I can put the summer shoes on.

Wow Cosmin, only today did I realize you have a presentation topic on this forum  :happy2:.
I don't think I had the chance to tell you but I was really glad (and a bit envy) when I head you decided to buy an S3!  :congrats:
Even if in photos it might not look apart, I think the black paint really suits this car. I remember seeing it on Aicu's S3 and it might just be the best color for an 8P S3!
About the touches, they are really nice and complete the car (which was pretty much complete already).
Great choice with the B16, I think you are really going to love the cars handling. But I am afraid you will hate the B16 when going on bumpy roads. Waiting for a review when fitted... Doubt you will be able to put the summer tires soon!
Best of luck!

Thank you Vlad for your appreciation.

Regarding the B16 (and other mods), I consider myself lucky because you guys already have the experience and all your posts and feedback made my decisions easier.
This being said - I'd like to take the opportunity to thank you, fusco & Silviu for all the help / tips / feedback.

I will also have to change the discs + pads + hoses and the clutch (it's dying), after which I hope to join you and have some fun together this year.
Cheers mate!
