running these Mtec 100w......yes 100w.....in mine, can't see the mot boys taking the bulbs out to check the wattage...I hope  :rolleye:

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/MTEC-H7-12v-100w-SUPER-WHITE-HID-CLASS-HALOGEN-BULBS-/271132994863?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item3f20c92d2f

You might not fail an MOT but aren't they dangerous for the mechanics? I'm sure it's wayyyy overloading the maximum amount.
surely the fuse would blow if it was pulling too much current, before the wire melted or something? isn't that what the fuse if for?

I think the issue is more of frying your wiring harness than fuses to be honest.
Aye, that wan.

I've decided to get the Philips Xtreme Vision.

Got the dipped and main in the h7 fitment and powerbulbs had an offer on and have chucked in some free osram w5w sidelights.

Now this will sound stupid but I've had a look and I can't get my hand in behind one of the lights to swap them so I am looking at paying a garage to change them all. Is there an easy way at getting at them before I pay someone?

you need small hands and a lot of patients.
go slowly, see hoe the holder is orientated when you take it out as it has to back in exactly the same position.
sidelight bulbs are really fiddly as you can't see what to pull on, but they just pull out, small nose pliers might help, get hold of outside of black holder and not the wires..

Wiggle the sidelight bulbs rather than pulling straight out. Worked better for me anyway

I have these fitted to my ED30 what a difference over the standard bulbs

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Ring-Xenon-Ultima-H7-Headlight-Bulbs-Pair-477-499-better-vision-120-RW1277-/231058528341?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item35cc295855

Had these before lasted 11months, then Mtec super white 55w, now Mtec super white 100W. The rings are not as bright or as white, and they cost more!!
