My dads just brought an edition 35 in candy white 25k miles and it's mint. As said above no rattles compared to my ed30 but it's a newer car so we should all expect it to be more refined than the ed30.

His is a DSG too and mines a manual I think mine has a bit more control but that's just my opinion but you can't knock the sheer brilliance of the DSG gearbox.

You'd be happy to upgrade to a Ed35 anytime they are a great car, me personally I love the looks of the Mk5's exterior more than the ed35 but the ed35 interior is the dogs danglies!

I think the ED35 is not as exclusive and sought after as the ED30 , they are also very similar in performance and looks . Unless your ED30 is a wreck i wouldn't change it for an ED35 . I sold my ED30 3 weeks ago and am struggling to find a new car which gives me the same feeling . Was the a limited build of ED35's , are they doing plaques like they did for the 25th and 30th ? I don't think so and this shows what VW think about the car ?? Doesn't it ?

I think the lack of a numbered build seems to be the issue for you, did your ed30 feel special to drive because it was a great car or was it the 'special' feeling you got from having a plaque and a car that other people thought was 'cool'..
If it was the former than I fail to see how an ed35 wouldn't feel equally as special to drive as it's essentially the same car... If it's the latter then yes, the 35 isn't numbered but if it's exclusivity you're after remember that there were around 2500 UK ed30s and only around 700 35s...

Did the MK3 Anniversary have a build number ? Why hasn't the ED35 ? Anyone ?
If i didn't need a different type of car i would still have the ED30 , it only had 22k on it afterall .
The newer the car , the better the product generally so an ED35 would be a step up , but for an extra £10,000 i don't think so . Keep the ED30  :innocent:

having had a Pirelli and Ed35 parked on the driveway for a couple of years the 35 edged it, mrs agreed, only trick missed was not putting the 35 seats in it imho, the pirelli still felt special though, 3 door manuals ironically are the rarest, i chose one over a R because i wanted a GTI

It's the pseudo electronic diff / traction control fitted to the mk6 gti, it's level of intervention can be adjusted with VCDS..
Mine was set from the factory at setting '0' (stock) changed it to '2' (strong) which is the maximum setting and the same that the Golf and Scirocco R run from the factory   :happy2:

Ok so does this make handling better on the strong setting, is it easy to change? I don't have VCDS but I will hopefully be changing a few things in a couple months so could change it then.

^ I did the XDS strengthening on my Scirocco. Makes a big difference.

If you turn it up to 2 it's very strong, you can feel it pulling the car back into line. It's a great system, but can be harsh on the brakes if you use it a lot. I managed to warp my disks on an enthusiastic drive  :driver:
