I need you help guys with spacers

I am picking up my new brakes tomorrow,  but have a stumbling block to overcome with fitment.
To get the brakes clear of my wheels i need a 5 mil spacer. I have no spare room under my arches for a 10 mil hub centric spacer so i am needing advice on options at 5 mil.
what are your thoughts on running non hub centric are they to risky, is their any engineering solutions to this to get 5 mil hub centric. I know manufacturers would offer them if their wasn't some sort of problem in this area.
Does anyone no someone who has overcome a similar problem.  :sad1:

I've got some 5mm in the garage that have a 57.1 centre bore with the OEM taper to meet the hub perfectly. Not hubcentric, but about the best you'd get otherwise.

You're welcome to borrow them and try them.

Did you have them made Mike, and do you think they would be safe enough for track days. Once the pads are worn down some i could probably run without them on track.  :happy2:

No, just bought some centre bore specific ones rather than the universal type which can shift between the hub and wheel.

The main thing is ensuring the weight of the wheel is carried by the hub, and not the bolts. A 5mm spacer should* leave you plenty of hub to get the wheel onto.

I bought them to clear the ill fated APs with my Monzas/old track wheels, so I'd intended to use them on track.

*Assuming your new discs are no thicker than usual.

New disks are 32 mil i believe so a bit thicker. If its ok with you Mike may i borrow them when fitting time comes around and if Dave and Votex think they will be adequate safety wise when fitting time arrives i will purchase some.  :happy2:

dont have that much experience with shims tbh.... i know i have them in stock 3,5 8mm but how they affect the locating of the wheel im not sure.  If the wheel was located by the spigot and all is well then i cant see the difference a shim would make (if it moved) other than making sure you have enough thread on your bolts you should be a OK  :happy2:  but what do i know, im half pi**ed  :drinking: :rolleye: :stupid:

spigot rings uk , they are in bradford  01274 524666   , you need 57.1 dia 5 mm wide  with 45 deg taper :happy2:
