Possible oem fuel pump upgrade

I don't know any facts but I'm guessing it's a possible upgrade if it's the case as appose to apr etc.

us scn boys are already on it. Need to wait for a cupra r to hit the showroom so we can pull a vin number or part number off the pump to see if it is any different from the one fitted to the normal cupra, and then also need to get it flow tested to see what t is capable of.

I'd have thought that by the sounds of the uprated parts..... possibly the same one that their throwing in the golf r?

Your correct mate, same engine as the new Golf and Scirroco R are getting, if this pump turns out to be different over the one we have as standard, I am going to get it instead of the APR etc.

They'll be pretty p***ed if you can go and get the same thing off the shelf from VW for a fraction. Oops!

I wonder if the VAG group have addressed the issue of increased wear on the cam follower with there version of the uprated HPFP.  This seems to be a problem on all the other uprated pumps.

IIRC the new engines have a new HPFP that uses a roller type follower insead of the bucket to address the wear issue, this could be the differences they are talking about. The HPFP in the current S3 flows enough for 260 odd bhp so why would an uprated higher flowing pump be needed for the 261bhp Cupra?
