puddle light problems
« on: May 05, 2014, 02:55:51 pm »
so i recently bought an edition 30 damage repaired apparently had the drivers door replaced now the folding mirrors wont fold and the drivers side puddle light wont light up even tho i have swapped the bulbs and the bulb is fine as it works on the passenger side!!!!!!
i was wondering will it be a wiring loom problem like the door they replaced has a different loom???
any knowledge would be helpful thanks

It could be that it needs re-coded for the functions to work (If they didn't use the original door control module).
If it was a 2nd hand door and they left the module that it came with it in, then there is a possibility that the module doesn't support the functions.

Do you have access to  VAG-Com or similar diagnostic scanner?
My 1st port of call would be a module snapshot to see what features are enabled and the hardware revision. Then I would look at the wiring.

Good luck  :happy2:

Where are you based?

Could be a door lock problem not recognising the doors open.... Does it show that it's open on the dash?

Oh on second thoughts.... Would only effect the light and not the mirror... Most likely the wrong module or incorrectly coded
