D3hnt steel grey GTI
« on: May 05, 2014, 07:55:22 pm »
Hi all
Should of really done this as I went along. I got the car last July and have enjoyed every minute of it.

Previous car - sad to see it go

Current car when first bought

How I went about it

Firstly I had it remapped and a panel filter. Changed the PCV valve, cam follower, diverter valve. Full service. Brake fluid. Air con etc

Then the modding started and I've become addicted

Wheel refurb one of the first things I did due to corrosion

VWR Springs

Colour coded front spoiler, plasti dipped front grilles gloss black

Colour coded rear spoiler and retro parking sensors

Retro armrest with sliding cup holder and vent tube

Retro Kenwood activated wheels in motion

Retro door puddle lights and rear footwell lights

Retro cruise control - kenwood microphone now rerouted

Retro projector headlights with HID kit and led bulbs

LED interior throughout

Led number plate lights and pressed plates

Solid console bushes - bought the bushes 8Z0407183 and pressed them in

Valeo's with inner mod

Fogs as DRL's LED bulbs

May of missed a few things

As of today

Great thread so far  :happy2:. We're the footwell lights and puddle lights a case of plugging a couple of wires in then getting it activated?

Puddle lights - 2 wires into door control unit if yours support them then code

Footwell - if you have them already just tap into them and feed the wire to the rear

Those springs give it the perfect drop. How low are they?

Great build thread :happy2: Are you from around the Manchester area by any chance? Think I've seen you on the motorway near the Trafford Centre and on the East Lancs. Looking great
