Pressed Plates
« on: May 06, 2014, 02:46:22 pm »
Hi all

Sorry if I'm covering old ground but I have a question about pressed plates. I have been looking at the ones on ebay that claim to be uk road legal. Has anyone bought some, are they good quality and 100% legal. I have copied a link to some of the ones advertised.

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Embossed-Pressed-metal-Aluminium-GB-number-plates-100-ROAD-LEGAL-/171154960996?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item27d9a17264

Thanks for your time guys.

They look fine however I got a set like this and is was just a stick on reflective sheet and they didn't look the best.. There's a guy on eBay called metalplates I got mine off him, give him a message if he has no listings. I took my set to the police station before I fitted them to make sure all was well. I also got a 'cover note' to prevent any police trying their luck with me.  :happy2:

This style is your best bet, though just make sure the seller is aware that you want a refund if they aren't legal. That is if you bother to go get an arse covering check from the police  :happy2

Ye dubmeister or euro plate are the one to get them from I bought mine 6 years ago from them. Only had been pulled over once, but they give you a cover note addresses to the copper so all I did was show him that and I never been pulled since and they was 5 years ago.

And since then I have had a set for my van, brothers mk2, me dads pick up, mrs fiat500 and mrs's dads car and no one has any probs.

Plus if you get them at the show you don't have to send your log book details off.

If you going to gti international get them from there

BMW styling ones are great. Look perfect and no need to send away documents like you do with dubmeister (no hate on dubmeister). Had mine for over a year and holding up strong
