Midland VW
« on: October 17, 2009, 05:00:45 pm »
Hello,

I'm looking to get a few bits and pieces done to my Scirocco and Midland VW are just round the corner from me. I popped in their today and spoke to them and was quite impressed but wondered if anyone on here has had any dealings with them, etc? I have searched a little on the net and couldn't find any criticisms of their work but most of the info. I found about them was more concerned with the older VW's.

At the moment it's a toss up for me between VWR doing the work (who I know have a very good rep and planty of recommendations - but are a reasonable distance away) or Midland VW.

All help gratefully received!

Thanks,

Deacon

can't fault them either, been there a couple of times for Services, or whenever you want a quote for work doing over the phone they are always very well priced, (Cheaper then most other indipendant places) and they stick to the quoted price too!

Volkspeed, can't rate them high enough. They might no have all the modern kit in the world but pete and dave certainly know what their on about and they treat your car is if it were their own.

Thanks for all the replies - after all these positive comments and I can't seem to find anything negative about their work after some more net searching I think I'll give them a try.

Again, thanks very much for all the input.

Let us know what you think afterwards, I just love sitting in the reception room reading all the VW mags,
Just wish I could sit in the garage watching them doing the work (not to check on them,  just enjoy watching!)

Well after much uming and ahing over which springs to go for I decided on the Eibach springs for lowering my Scirocco.

The springs were supplied and fitted by Midland VW (Web: http://www.midlandvw.com/ Telephone: 01543 485700) who were also kind enough to let me take a few pictures:-

Wonder how much these will cost when they eventually need replacing?

A comparison of the stock rear spring and the Eibach rear spring

Having the alignment checked after fitting

And a couple of before and after shots

Would quite happily recommend Midland VW and will be seeing them again for a few more bits and pieces I'm quite sure!

Very nice mate,
THey are such a nice bunch there, was in just a couple of weeks ago having my springs done, sat there for a good 3 hours.
Think the Rocco needs some nicer alloys though to be honest.
It will drop a bit more as well, as mine has, (though I do now scrape my exhaust on speed bumps, and I only went 30mm lower!)
