Goosie's MK5 R32
« on: May 06, 2014, 08:15:44 pm »
Hi everyone,

I've been a member on R32OC for a little while now and thought I'd look for a MK5 forum to join. I'm actually contemplating a swap to an Edition 30 but for now, a little bit about my car....

It's a fairly basic spec manual five-door with leather, satnav and a resonated Milltek system.

First thing I changed was the shift linkage to a Neuspeed short shift. Ordered it a day after picking up the car! Hated the long throw of the OEM linkage, it is hugely better now. Also some minor improvements to breathing...

Didn't rate the Milltek so I had a custom system made by AAS a month or two down the line. It's a resonated system with 3inch outward rolled tips. This is a video of it first fitted, sounds a little different now.

Then came some miscellaneous mods...

I like storage space lol.

**********************************************************************************************************************************

Fast forward a few months...it was time to sort the stance out. So along came...

and

With the following results...

**********************************************************************************************************************************

I picked up a puncture a day before my refurb was due in. Handy as I planned on changing the mixture of budget and Bridgestones that the previous owner had fitted. Not so nice on the wallet though! Bank holiday weekend meant I could only get a hold of two tyres. So the other two to be fitted next week. I went for Michelin PS3s.

I spent ages looking for the right colour but after much to-ing and fro-ing, we got there eventually. Many thanks to Chris @ wefixalloys for his hard work!

That just about brings me up to date. I don't have anything major planned but hoping to fit my Recaros this summer and various other bits and bobs, which I'll update on here.

Hope you've enjoyed the read!

I agree Andy, but when was the last time you cleaned your puter  screen. They don't look like black wheels to me.   :signLOL:

Thanks buddy.

Part number is 1K0061178A and it seems ECS now have them in stock again!

I went or KWV1 in the end which I find are a little soft for the R32. I couldn't justify the costs of V3s at the time but they would've probably been a better buy

Yeah I was lucky managed to get a bargain V3s for my ED30! They're on 3 clicks from soft atm but still supple but a nice amount of firmness, I may turn them up in the summer we shall see.

I shall look that part up, thanks again! Good work.

If you crave more storage space it might be worth looking at retro fitting the under seat storage drawers.

The car looks really smart too, the exhaust sounds perfect.
