To R or not to R..........
« on: May 08, 2014, 09:27:10 pm »
Hi All,

I am looking at trading in my Golf GTi and really do love the look of the new R. I am self employed and can do 20,000 miles a year in the car. Now my heart is saying to push the button on an R however my sensible head is saying I should be looking at something with a diesel engine maybe a second hand BMW 335d or something........

Any thoughts on a 335d??? I am frighted I will get bored  :happy2: I spend a large amount of time in the car and despite the fuel costs I really do enjoy my GTI.

4k in 2 months in a 7R and yet to get in 30s, factor in running cost and tyres, my R proper which I pick up this week will do less than 10k a year and will use the Polo workhorse which is about half the cost to run and I don't worry where I leave it

Hrmmmm yes I do see your point

Not sure I can afford the luxury of two cars at this moment in time. Maybe a passat for work? :driver:

Just keep the MK5 until you get bored of it? As VW are not going to run out of MK7 R's anytime soon.
