great remap results considering the pre cat is still there. I had to remove mine to get those figures.
well every dyno is different impossible or should I say pointless comparing different dyno's, the only thing they are good for are comparing before and after results, so on other rolling roads I may make less power but it dose show a 48bhp increase which Yea is a good figure :) and I dId make 196bhp standard which shows the dyno is actually pretty accurate as they are 197bhp standard

Saying that I would've expected to have lost more power over 9 years so it might be over reading a bit but I've known other standard gtis making over 200bhp which I would imagine is a little bit of a lie

My clutch has started slipping which is exactly what i imagined so as soon as the funds allow hopefully in the next couple weeks I'm buying a sachs performance clutch rated up to 550nm or 407ft/lbs, along with oem LUK flywheel, bolts and slave cylinder.

Get the LUK DMF from the Ed. 30. It's stronger than the one from the GTI. It also comes in the mk6 R20. :wink:

Not true. GTI & Ed30 share the same DMF.

LUK DMF is the one to get, but go for a Helix clutch over Sachs. Alex at AKS will do you a great deal  :happy2:
Not true. Check your ETKA beforehand, please.

DMF PN:
-GTI: 06F105266AC (BWA/BPY)
-GTI Ed. 30: 06F105266AD (BYD) -> 06F105266AG
-mk6 R20: 06F105266AD (CDLC/CDLF) -> 06F105266AG

The clutch is the same in both GTI and Ed. 30. The R20 has a different clutch.

AFAIK I agree. Contact Sachs Performance before ordering to be sure. A Helix is a great choice too. :smiley:

In another thread I made I explained the different types of sachs clutches. In the dmf version you can get clutches for luk and sachs flywheels because gtis use a luk flywheel and tdi's use sachs flywheels so they make a clutch for both sorts. .. Then they make them to fit smf's as well

Why do people say helix clutches are better anyway?

Thought I recognised the name from somewhere...

MK5 looks good. R-tech's maps are pretty awesome, mine was mapped by them to 330bhp and it pulls so hard! Going to back to them once I've done a few things for more power  :party:

Few people had problems with Sachs, IIRC TFSIMike is getting a bit of clutch slip with his.

Never heard a bad thing about Helix clutches (accept they sent me wrong clutch :signLOL:)

Alex at Aks has fitted hundreds of both but prefers the Helix

I'd probably change my username but I made it up when I was 16/17 when I was on zsoc, used it for about 7 years on saxperience where I spend most of my time so I like to keep it the same as I get people like you recognising on random forums.

To say I'm pleased with the r-tech map would be an understatement!  Would love more power but I think I'll just move on to a k04 powered car when I get rid of this

Yes and no.  Lets start from the beginning...

The very first 2004 MK5 dervs came with an LUK flywheel, but the flywheel is a slightly different depth on the friction face to the LUK flywheel that the TFSi uses.  This is a pita for knowing what kit to go for.  Most of the BKD engines used LUK flywheels, even though ETKA states they are SACHS that are fitted.  SACHS flywheels seem to have been used from around 2007 onwards on the PD140, but all the PD170's had LUK.

The reason that SACHS list versions for both types of flywheel is because in Europe (not UK) and America, the MK5 GTi came as a TFSi and a TSi.  All the TFSi cars used LUK, all the TSi cars used SACHS (on an 8 bolt fly).  The MK6 GTi uses SACHS, ED35 and R uses LUK.

LUK flywheels that are fitted to the AXX/BWA/BWJ/BYD/CDL all seem to be the same strength, its just the free play that is different.

06F 105 266 AD (now AG) - 18 deg free play max
06F 105 266 AC - 15 deg free play max
06F 105 266 K - 17 deg free play max

They all have the same max rock.

Helix kits firstly are slightly better priced than the Sachs.  Clamping pressure also seems to be greater allowing them to handle more power and the pedal feel is nicer.

To be honest I didnt really look in to the diesel engines as it doesnt concern me, either way im looking in to LUK flywheel and a LUK fitment sachs slutch so there shouldnt be any issues.

From what ive seen Helix are more expensive, awesome gti sell the helix for £470 without postage and the sachs clutch ive found is about £415 with postage from germany, how much do you sell helix clutches for?
