cheers guys, i just used e-tech tinting spray, ive always used it on other cars, in various colours.

I do want the valance painting weather it happens or not im not sure, i want wheels refurbed, lowered and re-mapped before anything else happens.

I got some pressed plates the other day, not sure whether to put them on as is, or buy some surrounds

I had the low oil pressure light come back on which for those following the thread would remember it came on just after i had the car, the garage basically sorted out everything that was noticeably wrong and the light went off, 5 months later back on, which basically meant one thing; take the sump off and inspect the pump, the gauze on the feed pipe was clogged so that and the sump have been cleaned up as well as other faults the garage found

also had an mot done, only failed on a split cv boot which they fixed and also polished my headlights and took a nail out the n/s/r tyre and plugged it which were advisories

bill still came to £700!! so pretty skint now!

Re: Jeffchiz's VW Golf Gti 2.0T fsi *Michelin Pilot Sport 3's*
« Reply #48 on: November 25, 2014, 08:26:08 pm »
One of the remaining advisories on my mot were front tyres having low tread on the inside, so for my birthday I asked for a couple of Michelin Pilot sport 3's, Tom5190 has them on his s3 and recommended them over my bridgestone potenzas which i currently have and even I noticed they arent very good so i took his advise ill get them fitted when i have my wheels refurbed which im hoping will be my xmas pressie ;) I'll then buy my self another couple of ps3's probably early next year when the rears need changing

Im also going to buy some front radius arm bushes as that is the last advisory

girl at work also made me an awesome cake

looked better in person but the details up close are great she really went through my fb with a fine tooth comb but got annoyed when she put the fog lights on the wrong sode of the grille ha

Re: Jeffchiz's VW Golf Gti 2.0T fsi *REV G fitted*
« Reply #50 on: January 20, 2015, 08:00:06 pm »
Just replaced my DV Rev B, i removed it at the weekend and it was fooked, picked up a Rev G tonight and just got it fitted, seems to pull better now

Bought it from TPS for £38, VW wanted £70 for a rev D, which is strange considering TPS is part of the VAG group where they get all their parts from.. also tried telling me the D is the same as the G 'its just a different manufacturer', so i just hung up in the end.. you cant tell them anything.....

I got my car mapped today at r-tech, very pleased! By far the cheapest place at £290 and that is with the car mapped on a rolling road (not just road tested after the map is loaded like most places), so they also include before and after figures with a graph (again some places charge extra for this, even if they have a dyno) and lastly which I really wasn't expecting was that I had 5 maps loaded on to the car which i can change by using the pedals and the ignition, very cool and geeky! Which is ideal if the clutch starts to slip I can knock it down in power and torque.

She made 196bhp and 220ft/lbs standard and then 244bhp and 325ft/lbs after, so almost 50bhp more (25% more power).

hi, no they didnt take the cat out or the pre-cat out if thats what you are asking. They advised me to get the pre-cat taken out by the company next to them (dynodaze, as r-tech now just do mapping) this obviously keeps the car legal, with an uprated panel filter they said I should get 250bhp from past cars they've tested, which tbh isnt far off a stage 2 set up,

the car is like a rocket ship now! ha keeps pulling nicely like a train up to the redline, but with the weather as it is and me living in the country Ive had very few chances to go for it, ive knocked it back down the the standard map this morning due to the snow

Been in the north east visiting my old mate tom so i could kindly use his unit and his help!

We got up early and after a fuel and coffee stop we got up to his unit and got the car inside after picking the S3 arms up from TPS along with a new thermostat and coolant (due to me being unorganised i didnt get nay brake fluid in time)

emptied the boot

got the car up on stands, got the front wheels off an went around the corner to have my michelin PS3's fitted

Then once back at the unit we started on the wishbones, old gti vs new s3 arms

First one fitted (stupidly I forgot to order ball joints but mine are fine so no harm done

Tom fitting the second one (he loves pic of himself on my threads)

Final pic of both wishbones and wheels/tyres fitted, drove much nicer on the way home :D

Unfortunately we didn't realise how much of a ball ache the thermostat is or should i say how much of a ball ache it could be, either way its buried behind other components and it was getting late in the day so that will wait until next month when hopefully ill do another visit with the brake fluid and the bottom powerflex engine mounts, a bit more ring prep :homme:

jeff coming along nice s3 wishbones how much are they from TPS
do they come with the console as well

just remember to get the tracking done as the new tyres might wear out on the inside

whats next on your list pre cat delete and panel filter

what the difference with s3 wishbones i know they are lighter
does it ride better less roll soild on a bend apex

thanks for all the updates and reply

great remap results considering the pre cat is still there. I had to remove mine to get those figures.

They were  £225 from tps and yea they come with the consoles, as well as the lightness they also have solid rubber mounts compared to the voided gti bushes, basically the gti bushes have holes in them to allow more movement but makes the steering less precise
