Tips on dislodging stones?
« on: May 10, 2014, 11:43:57 am »
Morning!
Drove over to Newcastle from Cumbria today and went on the Roman Road cause it's dead fun. But now I have a rattle at low speeds coming from the rear passenger side wheel of what I can only assume is a stone lodged somewhere..? This happened once before when I was on a bumpy road and I ended up taking the wheel off and giving it a good hit which seemed to do the job... But now it's back and I'm wondering if there's and easier way of getting rid of this rattle..?
Any help would be appreciated!
Thanks
Marc

Tyre tread? Stones often get lodged between my tread.

It's more of a metallic sound.. Think of putting a stone in a metal dog bowl and slowly rolling it about.. That kind of sound...?  :sad1:

Could be a stone stuck between the rear of the disc and the dust shield, I usually just give the shield a gentle push inwards and the stone normally drops out either straightaway or when reversing
