Rear caliper problem

Hi All,

Upon driving today, my rear caliper has started to make a very nasty sounding noise. It sounds like a aeroplane!

I've had a look and it's the passenger side rear and the disc now looks like it's starting to leave a pitting in the disc.

Does this sound like a replacement rear disc and caliper job? Is there anything I can do as a quick fix to tie me over until Monday as I'm actually not at home at the moment as helping with a move.

Any suggestions would be really appreciated, I am a bit concerned about driving it still however there's no obvious effects on the braking power at the moment.

have you just worn the rear pads down to metal, so metal on metal grating?  if so get new pads on quick before the disc is knackered as well.

More the caliper is sticking to the disc?

Is it still sticking now? Mine did this once and it turned out a stone had flicked up
Off the road between the caliper and the disk and the break bound on.

i'd jack the wheel up and make sure it spins, if it dosn't i wouldn't drive it, it'll eventually boil up the brake fluid, if this happens the brake pedal will go to the floor without any braking resistance.
