Window Tints
« on: May 27, 2014, 08:03:35 pm »
Thinking of getting my windows tinted, wanted it to be a fairly oem look but wondered what everyone else has?

I was thinking of going for lighter in the front, quite dark on the rear quarter and lighter on the boot lid.

Would be good if you could post pics of yours and light percentages

No tints allowed on the front windows. The factory tint and the colour of the glass already take them to about the legal limit, so anything else on top is gonna put them over the limit.

I had the rear windows done on the Bora, and the rear windscreen as well. All the same tint.
Sarcasm for free. Anything after that can only be considered as a bonus.

Just because you think you know something, doesn't make you an expert if you've just read it on the internet, y'know.

I opted for Sonniboy window blinds.

A few on here have these including myself.

Good practical alternative to tinting  :happy2:

Not sure I would get the sonniboy blinds again. Quality product but makes the rear a bit too dark IMO and the 'haze' they give does reduce visibility. If a tinter could replicate factory privacy glass with no lines that'd be my ideal.

On this topic can anyone confirm if their ed30 has tinted front windows? After taking my car to be repaired I noticed the garage had scratched the inside of the passenger window and so they offered to replace it foc.  When i collected it they said it was not oem and not legal as it was ~50% but it looks totally oem and it was not anything is done.  It's my08 and candy white, does anyone else have tinted windows
