Central locking
« on: May 15, 2014, 08:20:41 pm »
Noticed every now and then when I go in the garage to unlock my car .  The central locking is a little slow or sluggish when opening . Then it's ok can anyone tell me why ?

It's a common fault on the mk5's that the lock mechanism fails, it starts off being sluggish then eventually it stops altogether.

It happened to mine (fortunately under warranty). The tech said it would be a couple of hundred pounds to fix if I'd had to pay  :sad1:

There are some how-to guides about if you fancy having a go yourself

You say it eventually stops altogether, does this mean if I don't get it fixed in time I wont be able to get into my car ?
