Poor sound quality with MDI Kit
« on: July 11, 2014, 09:01:32 am »
Hey all, had my glove box mdi kit fitted at the weekend and when plugging my iphone in the sound is really poor and distorted. I know it isn't the quality of the mp3s as I've checked and played them through various systems before.

I've done a google search and I think there may be a pin swap to do as the RCD510 I'm using is from 2013.

Has anybody on here experienced this and know which pins to swap?

Cheers!  :happy2:

I swapped a rdc500 for a rns510 and had to move the black ground wire from pin 2 to pin 3 for my armrest ipod adapter to work correctly. I suspect it'll be the same for your RCD510.

Without traction power is nothing!
