Drivers side impact airbag sensor
« on: May 16, 2014, 09:25:16 am »
Morning,
I have an airbag light on the dash, scan says intermittent fault on drivers side airbag impact sensor.

Possible causes, damaged loom by the hinges or faulty sensor (no history of accident)

Any1 experienced this before? (Mk5 golf tdi sport 1.9 2005)

This then leads my to this question........

Search on eBay for impact sensor brings up 2 sensors that look similar but have different names and 1 letter different in the part no!

1 1K0 955 557 B Airbag Crash Impact Thrust Sensor
2 1K0 955 557 A FRONT DOOR AIRBAG CRASH SENSOR

Any1 know there difference or which 1 I need? I've done so many google searches to find the difference but I'm stuck!
TPS won't give me the part number for my car either (so I don't go and buy it cheaper on eBay I suppose!)

Thanks for reading
James

A has been superseded by B, there the same part

in all honesty i think your more right on the track of broken wires in the door rubber as its an 05 very common for wires to brake in this area.
Loads of extra's and retro fits.
