I asked u a simple question, do u need a 4x4?

Since your so rich and like to boast about it, why are you even worried about the resale value?

Do you didn't you stated " Do you even need a 4x4 or is it more of a status thing? "

I found it very rude bearing in mind , the we're not worthy icons aswell .

Oddly people that have been successful do worry about re sale value of the things they buy , afterall cars are not investments , well apart from the willys jeep i just sold !

Worth remembering women don't like filling diesel cars - they complain about the pump nozzles being dirty and smelly!

As for me if your thinking of keeping the vehicle for a number of years and doing low mileage petrol wins!

You would have to keep on top of the soot loadings by either taking the car out on a longer run so it will passively regen or carrying on your journey until the active regen finishes. Short journeys with lower average EGT's will lead to more forced regens which uses fuel, kind of defeats the object of a Diesel somewhat but I appreciate in a towing application it's preferred.

Petrol is less hassle on paper.

I'm a techy and about the same with answers I get half customers with no end of problems and the other half never see a bean from the dpf side of things. However there is usually a reason which people over look for blocked dpfs. Injectors and seals leaking are common, oil depreciation and incorrect oil are also huge factors of dpfs blocking or even catching fire which I have seen, so basically I would always say when looking at one with a dpf just like all other cars check over the history in depth. Hope this helps.
