I have a Passat 2007 with no CD changer installed. It has got a RCD 300 installed on it. I recently bought http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/RCD510-RCD300-USB-AUX-Switch-Cable-Plug-For-Volkswagen-VW-Touran-Tiguan-AC211-/131545099021?hash=item1ea0b2eb0d from ebay in hope of using AUX input and have connected it to the stereo but have no idea on how to AUX input can be selected. I have tried the CD button twice as well. I have attached the picture of my stereo if that helps. Any answer would be much appreciated. Thanks

For the older units I believe that you need more than just a cable. You need to "fool" the head unit into thinking that a CD changer is connected using some electronics.

I have this kit fitted to my RCD300 & works fine.

Could you use the EBay aux port and a iPod connector at the same time? On say a MFD2?

I'm not sure that part you bought is the right one. There is a useful guide here to get it working - http://www.vwaudiforum.co.uk/forum/showthread.php/70812-Retro-fitting-VW-Aux-in-Lead-Golf-MK5
