So my 2005 GTI has been dry stored for the past 3 months or so, car was serviced etc before storage and handbrake was left off. I had to jump start the car from an X5, initially didn't work but after a few attempts it started. For around 2/3 secs there was a little smoke from the negative lead (where the metal teeth grip the terminal) on my golf the leads were connected to the battery & on the X5 the red lead was connected to a red battery bolt as the battery is located in the boot & black terminal was connected to the earth part
Here's where the probs start, when the car was started the following lights were on,
ABS
Power steering
Traction
Handbrake
And fuel warning kept flashing (fuel was low but doesn't usually keep flashing)
The traction, abs & PS lights have came up before I replaced the old battery but after a few mins of driving they would usually turn off... This time when I drove the car for a good 10 mins, all the lights stayed illuminated
Any ideas what the problems could be?
