Air Con Woes!
« on: May 19, 2014, 07:04:29 pm »
My air con stops blowing when I put it below 21c. It starts making a loud noise from the left passenger vent. If I switch to econ it will blow like normal, but when I switch back to around 18c it eventually stops blowing. I does come out cold though, even if it's for 10 secs

I've had it regassed and the bloke said the compressor was fine. Maybe he was lying.

So does it work at all? Mine had a new compressor/ regas recently and has been a bit funny as it sometimes decides to blow warm air into the cabin rather than AC.

Try doing a flap reset -

Ideally you want to get it hooked up to VCDS to see if any fault codes are logged and check the advanced measuring blocks for the compressor.

It does indeed work, cooling the Air to the temp selected. It's just that it goes into recirculation mode, with little effect. When this happens only a littlecold air comes out of the vents. I've tried recirculation mode and it doesn't blow how it's meant to.

I've done the flaps reset too and this hasn't really helped.

I'll get a scan done next week with my Indy. Thanks for your help, last poster.
