Maf sensor cause random engine cut out?
« on: May 19, 2014, 08:48:32 pm »
My car golf gti 05, just randomly cuts out, no specific time, mainly cuts out after youve been driving for awhile, tyrn engine off, jump back in it, start and put it into gear, (mines a dsg) then randomly cuts out like ive put into drive to quickly, but on the other hand i can be cruising along, and all ignition lights will apear n the engine has cut out.
Usally fires up after a couple of turns, but today it took a good 10-15secs to fire up again.
Im only thinking its the maf sensor as somedays it will idle fine and other days it sitting above 1k then around 700rpm
 Any input cheers

I wouldn't of thought it would be the maf sensor, I'd get someone with VCDS to have a look, should throw up a fault or two! Could be CPS(crankshaft position sensor)

Indeed as I had something similar when my crankshaft position sensor was faulty.
Without traction power is nothing!
