I have these, or very similar..

Output with regular bulbs is absolutely shocking, to the extent I don't think these are actually designed to be run with normal bulbs only HID's.

I ran Osram nightbreakers in them initially and quite frankly it would have been safer duck tape a candle to the bonnet!

With HID's they are spot on, would never know they arent OE.

Are they the ones that require the 6 o'clock mod?

Would you need a D2S HID kit then?

Noticed that the Hella ones use a h7 and a h1 bulb, so the above ebay link is more comparable with factory xenons.

From what i can tell the ones above won't fit a non xenon mk5. These are the d2s bulb with different headlamp connector.
Eurowagens sell another set with h7+h7 but they are out of stock for now

I picked up my hella xenon look headlamps from andrew page. Think the pair cost around 250ish. Get the part numbers from hella's page if those are the ones you want to get (make sure theyre correct for the RHD car as a lot on ebay are LHD). Andrew page managed to get them shipped over from germany in about 2 days and i got a warranty with them too which helps i guess. If i can find the part numbers i can let you know? Was a while back though...

I plan on running HID's the plugs for the blubs doesn't bother me too much. I can make them fit.

Can you order them directly from Hella?
