Airlift V2 compressors not working...
« on: May 21, 2014, 07:14:45 pm »
alright guys, wondered if anyone would be able to help, car was working fine this morning, aired up after id been to the gym and my comps didn't kick in.

I've taken the tank pressure below the threshold and they still aren't coming on.

Ive checked the fuses going to them and they're fine, my next idea was to check the relays?

Im not electronically minded at all so what I'm asking is, how do I go about checking a relay?

Or could the problem lye somewhere else? Im running 2 comps and neither of them are coming on

cheers guys!

Probably the tank pressure switch.

Without seeing the set up and how the wiring is done.
On mine for example one is set up directly from the pressure switch and the other is on via a Relay.
I had an issue with one relay sticking open causing one compressor to go on.

If both are not working on yours then I would imagine the pressure switch on the tank is faulty...

thanks a lot man, is the pressure switch a fitting inside the tank? or is it built into the manifold? much to replace?

gonna see if its still under warranty anyway :)

cheers man, just didn't know because the controller is still showing the tank pressure and just assumed it was the manifold that controlled the compressors

thanks for the help though

So I sorted the problem and thought I would post up what was wrong in case anyone else had the same thing;

Turns out the fuse holder in the engine bay that was powering the compressors has got a bit hot and the connections in it had expanded so it wasn't touching the fuse. Just crimped the connections back up and its working again.

Quick easy fix :)

Just for future reference on v2 the pressure switch is in the manifold.

Not in/on the tank  :happy2:
