Plumbing help
« on: May 21, 2014, 03:11:19 pm »
Leaky shower.

We have a mixer shower (sirrus 1600) upstairs and it started leaking a while back. I bought a service kit, replaced the o-rings and regreased everthing and it was fine but started leaking again a few weeks ago. Decided to change the cartridge, replaced the old seals in the housing that holds the cartridge, regreased everything and fitted it all back together. No leaks but no hot water! Cold water comes out.

The hot water inlet works fine and if I remove the cartridge and open the valves on the inlets, the hot water comes out beautifully. Refitting the old cartridge means the hot water comes out but it all leaks.

Any ideas?  :scared:

The GTI isn't just a machine. It's very much a living, breathing thing.

Sorry to ask, but is it in the correct way round?

Could even be the new cartridge is faulty.  Or the hot water limiter is set really low. (So you can't scald your self)
this can be adjusted.

Yup there's a screw that you have to turn and it was set all the way to cold only. Sorted it out last night.
