Renault Kangoo using an ED30 as a brake from 30(ish) MPH..

I've not had a pro check it out, but after opinions as he has missed all the crash protection and boot floor not good.

Cat D/C?

How do you fix a boot floor? Jig or cut out and replace?

Its a write off, if only for the cost of replacing the visibly damaged panels, painting and labour, add in re-jigging and possible replacing unseen damage on a 6_7 year old car, no chance.

You might be lucky and just be able to jig it out but it's likely you'll need a new floor, crash bar and or course bumper and boot. Any other damage underneath?

My mate has just had his 05 repaired... Worse damage than that. All is not lost. He was persistent that he wanted it repaired. He got it back on wednesday.

I reckon that will be a write off for sure. Sad to say it..., I know your pain as my mkiv was killed in a similar rear accident which shunted me forward. Boot floor was crushed, and rear C pillar had a bit of a kink in it. I know it was an older car, but still, at these levels of damage, the labour and parts costs just mean automatic cat c/d...

Sorry to see this, always pains me to see a lovely VW damaged.

Have you considered your options in terms of buying it back if it's written off ?

Had similar in my 206 that was only worth about £2K at the time, just after passing my test. (Not my fault)

Car was repaired through the person at fault's insurance and had; bent boot floor needed replacing and welding, rear bumper, tailgate, rear lights, paint and labour.

I'd say your fine as it'll all be going through the Kangoo owners insurance, provided he has any.

Presume u will get a crap pay out mate??

I wouldn't want it to be repaired because when you go to sell it, it'll be listed as a cat c/d

:sad1: :sad1:

you'll proberly be asked to get 2 quotes now for the insurance company, unless they send their own insurer out to see it, make sure they quote using genuine parts and not what they refer to as white label parts (non genuine) i always have this argument with the assesors, my point being the car was fitted with genuine parts before the accident so why not be repaired to the same standard afterwards. but i would say it's non repairable through insurance, they just don't entertain structural damage such as back panel/boot floor. sorry bud. bloody nice car that.
