Hi
I changed my expansion tank on my 05 gti because it had brown deposit in it. I then ran the car and checked the coolant tank and there was more brown stuff in it. the coolant it self is pink is this normal ?

Doesn't sound normal to me!
What antifreeze did it have before, was it VW stuff?

Is it possibly a case of dried up oil? If so, you should check the radiator incase that's leaking oil. Also check the water pump etcetera if they haven't been done in a service yet.

I wonder if the previous owner had a coolant leak and chucked some 'Radseal' in?
