Power loss on motorway
« on: May 25, 2014, 09:34:10 pm »
Today I was driving on the motorway at 70mph, I put my foot down a bit more and it hit 80, but wouldn't go more than that. Revs don't go higher than 3000rpm on 4th, 5th and 6th gear. I can't go faster than 80mph, the engine feels like it's working so hard, makes it sound like it has an induction kit.

Not sure what the problem is and there are no warning lights shown, but the car just feels very slow and poor, sometimes it judders and feels like it's slightly braking on it's own.

City driving feels fine it's just on the motorway at high speeds.

Hiya mate, it could be a few things! boost leak is quite common but I had a similar problem, which unfortunately turned out to be a completely destroyed cam follower that had eaten the camshaft  :fighting:
