Whats the point?

One thing ive never really understood is driving round wi fog lights on when its not foggy. I saw 2 or 3 people doing it yesterday. I really dont see the point. Can anyone cast an idea/opinion on why people do this?

Purely cosmetic. What's the point in adding led sidelights or ed30 rears?

(Not saying that I would dream of driving around with fogs on(only as it's illegal though)

Really winds me up too.

I do think that the fogs help with the definition of the front end of the car at night. I put LED's in the back of mine, wired into the sidelights so that they glow (not as bright as side lights):



Please excuse the picture. It is really difficult to take a picture of the front of the car in fog with the headlights on!

These werent drl's. They were on a sh*te heap Mazda 3 and a corsa.

Some cars DRLs run the fog lights, my Volvo does - not full on fogs obviously but the fogs are illuminated 24/7
