Coil packs
« on: May 15, 2014, 08:55:56 am »
Very quick one - how easy are coil packs to replace? My car has developed a pretty horrendous misfire during certain times. Its pretty intermittent at the moment but going to address it before it becomes a problem.

Plan on getting codes read to work out which coil it is but then plan on doing corrective work myself.

Most technical thing I've ever done is change my filter to an induction kit, have most basic tools I should need.

Coil pack are very easy to remove. The big issue is first getting the air box off if you don't have a cai.
Without traction power is nothing!

Ring VW, give them your reg and ask them about the coil pack recall. I had mine done a few months back. Couple hundred quids worth of work for free. Plus they washed it and vacuumed it for me.
