German pine marten attack on oil sensor!
« on: May 28, 2014, 06:31:58 pm »
Strange as it sounds my dads Skoda Superb has come under attack whilst he is in Germany. The oil sensor has been knackered by pine martens or Marder in German. Apparently they are very destructive and love to chew on hot rubber and plastic parts on cars. He'll have to get a new oil sensor fitted when he gets back to England, but is that likely to be cheap or do they tend to be an expensive part?

Martens are a nightmare in certain areas of Germany! I had my A3 parked up in Baden Baden for a few days whilst waiting for my mates Golf to be fixed at the dealer and the VW garage offered the use of a Marder repellent because 'they might prefer the taste of an English car'
