squeaks and rattles.....

I have rattle coming form the back somewhere - driving me absolutely nuts! have had the seats down, removed the rear inside tailgate trim, removed parcel shelf - light covers...  - it appears and not certain yet that it is coming form the rear middle fold able are rest - anyone else had this problem as it is driving me round the bend

I've had the car since April 2009 and am yet to track it down as well!!!

I suspect it's the armrest rattling as well, if I bang it from the boot side I can hear the catch rattle... Mines like a constant chattering sound when driving on rough and uneven road. I also suspect the tailgate is rattling, adjusting the bump stops may help when I get round to it 

Also the passenger seat rattles like mad when no one is in it!  And even though i've packed it out with SilentCoat the dashboard diffuser still rattles & creaks like a b&tch!!!

yep - think the centre arm rest - it gets louder dependent on the road surface, sooo annoying - I am taking it off at the weekend so will let you know if it cures it! Glad I am not suffering in silence. Careful  if you take the tailgate trim off it is a b*tch to get back on properly...

It could also be your spare wheel rattling about...

I've tightened my balls with lanyards   so I know they're not knocking about, also put some tape around the rear seat catches to make them tighter...

Now my Golf has got an annoying metallic vibrating coming from underneath the car at just over 1000 rpm...

Is it a plastic rattle, or metal on metal.

just F88king annoying one! sounds more trim rattle rather than metallic - has got worse over the last twelve months...grrrr

My f*cker rattles/squeaks/creaks from front to back and floor to roof! Does my nut in! I suppose that's what happens when you retrofit or remove plastic parts or change bulbs etc!
