OEM alloys are manufactured to a proven design, to set standards, and under strict quality control.

Reps are made simply to look like the wheels they're a copy of. Where you buy your reps from has little bearing on how well they're made.

....lol except the mk7 golf R wheels, have u seen the pictures of the one that just disintegrated??

But I do agree with you. I wouldn't buy snidey reps. A lad at work as some and tbf they do look spot on and they were bought from a local shop with a good rep (they also sell genuine wheels and do loads of tuning etc) so I think they'll be good quality reps.

You mean the one reported incident of a Golf R wheel failing which was most likely down to him tramping a kerb?
Sarcasm for free. Anything after that can only be considered as a bonus.

Just because you think you know something, doesn't make you an expert if you've just read it on the internet, y'know.

I very much doubt it was a kerb  :booty:

And yes, I know, 1 report doesn't make them all sh*t.

Exactly, seeing a image or a little read of that f*cked rim will be only half the story I'm pretty sure.

I think if he had been driving like a dick he would have done a lot more damage to the car  :stupid:

If it was a kerb, then he hit it with a wheel, not the whole car. That's probably why the rest of the car is relatively undamaged. Didn't need to be driving like a disk, just hit something which damaged the wheel.
